Timeless Tropical Textures at this Chic Hotel Bel-Air Wedding
L + E
Laura & Eric—serious lawyers by day and exceptional hosts by night—crafted a wedding that was as vibrant and dynamic as they are. From the moment guests arrived in LA, traveling from various continents and major cities around the world, they were surprised and delighted.
Laura & Eric kicked off the celebrations at the chic hole-in-the wall wine and snack bar Stir Crazy LA, which felt "very New York" (a nod to their current home together), with a carefully curated wine list, caviar, anchovies, Jamon Iberico, and a family-style farm fresh meal. Inside this jewel box of a bar on Melrose, guests ended the night with a rose petal cake and gourmet confections by family friend Valerie (recognized as one of the top artisan confectioners in the country) of Valerie Confections.
Now a proud New Yorker, the bride was instantly drawn to the historic Hotel Bel-Air—just down the street from where she grew up—for its lush private lawn, picturesque gardens, exquisite food and beverage, and stellar service for her wedding. The iconic blush buildings and grounds, admired for decades, made it the perfect backdrop for her vision. On this idyllic day in June, the sun was shining, the martinis were flowing (the couple's favorite drink), the tables overflowing with Mark’s Garden designs (including custom tabletop lamps and perfect peonies), and the sweet treats and little surprises continued to delight. After Laura & Eric cut their 1950's-inspired wedding cake and the band (West Coast Music) wound down, guests were lured through the custom golden curtains in the Bel-Air ballroom with espresso martinis and late night bites and danced until the wee hours to Club DJ Dosa (Red Shoes LA). Needless to say, no one was waking up for brunch the next morning before their flights returning home around the world.
